The Clinical Psychologist plays a vital role in helping medically complex children overcome psychological and behavioral barriers to recovery. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Percent of Time
Inpatient pediatric psychologist provides psychological services to children with complex medical developmental and behavioral health needs during hospitalization.
Provide psychological assessments and psychotherapy for children and adolescents with complex medical and rehabilitative needs including a history of medical illness neurodevelopmental disorders and complications of accidental and non-accidental trauma (e.g. motor vehicle collision assault abuse/neglect).
Role includes conducting behavioral functional assessments to inform individualized care plans and behavioral interventions.
Provide targeted psychological interventions for children with developmental delays autism spectrum disorder and other neurodevelopmental conditions.
Brings knowledge/training and/or desire to support infant mental health services by facilitating parenting education on parent-child attachment and parenting training to support medical feeding and rehabilitation goals.
Provides trauma-informed care to children and families coping with hospitalization medical trauma or adjustment difficulties.
Collaborate with the medical team to improve treatment adherence feeding and sleep behaviors and pain management strategies.
Act as a liaison between families patients and the care team promoting effective communication and family-centered care.
Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute psychological insight into care planning.

Qualifications
Education:
Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) from an APA or CPA accredited programwith training in clinical counseling pediatric or child and adolescent psychology.
Experience:
Minimum of 1-year postdoctoral fellowship.
Experience in pediatric psychology inpatient medical settings or rehabilitation preferred.
Strong skills in assessment psychotherapy and behavioral intervention.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Compassionate flexible and family-centered approach to care.
License/Certification/Credential:
Licensed or license eligible in the State of Oklahoma.
Ability to speak understand read and write English required.
