Job Description

Civilian dispatchers are responsible for providing the public with the quickest response to requests for police services by the most efficient and diligent manner in which dispatch messages are communicated to field units (police officers). The dispatcher has primary responsibility for the initial deployment of public safety personnel and equipment subject to the provisions of applicable written directives.

Dispatchers shall maintain accurate and uniform documentation of police activity assigns and manages alarm activations and retrieve records files and information for dissemination to the proper departmental personnel.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma / GED required
  • Bachelors degree preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience
