Job Description

The Senior Quality Inspector is responsible for performing advanced-level inspections of mechanical electro-mechanical and electronic components subassemblies and final assemblies to ensure compliance with DDNs quality standards specifications and regulatory requirements. This role provides critical support to manufacturing supplier quality and engineering teams by identifying non-conformances assisting in root cause investigations and helping implement effective corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform in-process incoming and final inspections using appropriate tools (calipers micrometers multimeters microscope etc.).
  • Interpret and apply complex mechanical drawings schematics specifications and industry standards (e.g. IPC-A-610 ANSI/ASME Y14.5).
  • Document inspection results and non-conformances in DDNs quality systems.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing on first article inspections (FAI) new product introduction (NPI) and production validation.
  • Support supplier quality by inspecting components received from vendors and communicating quality issues for disposition.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (RCCA) processes.
  • Assist in training junior inspectors and operators on inspection standards and techniques.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspection reports calibration logs and quality metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 requirements where applicable.
  • Uphold a culture of continuous improvement and proactive quality management.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of quality inspection experience in a high-tech or electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in using mechanical inspection tools and equipment.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and ability to read engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 AS9100 or similar quality standards.
  • Familiarity with ERP and quality systems (e.g. Oracle Propel etc.).
  • Excellent attention to detail documentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or equivalent certification.
  • Prior experience in aerospace data storage or high-performance computing industry.
  • Working knowledge of ESD controls and cleanroom practices.

Targeted pay rate is up to $27.00/hr
