Job Description
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Sefton MBC to assist with the appointment of a Health and Safety Adviser on a 9-month contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: 20.56-27.25/hour
Summary:
The Health & Safety Adviser will support the Health & Safety Senior Officer in delivering high-quality health and safety advisory services across council departments with a specific focus on commercial operations and schools. This includes ensuring compliance with legislation conducting audits and inspections developing policies and training programs and providing detailed support and guidance to a wide range of stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the delivery and review of the Councils Health and Safety Strategy.
- Provide expert advice on compliance with health and safety legislation and best practices.
- Conduct audits and inspections across council buildings and schools covering areas like asbestos legionella gas and electrical safety.
- Develop and communicate policies and guidance that support a strong health and safety culture.
- Monitor incident reporting systems identify trends and recommend preventive measures.
Requirements:
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (e.g. SCQF Level 10 or RQF/CQFW Level 6).
- Certified Member of IOSH.
- Literate and numerate to Level 3 standard.
- Proven experience in occupational health and safety.
- Experience producing management reports and delivering training.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience managing building safety issues (e.g. asbestos legionella gas fire).
