The Injury Prevention Consultant works with departments and clinical teams within Nova Scotia Health to identify areas of risk related to injuries and to implement and evaluate programs to reduce employee injuries. The Injury Prevention Consultant is a champion for injury prevention and safe patient handling within Nova Scotia Health. They are responsible for providing expert services and to act as a resource to assist in assessment and identification of department/unit/staff needs based on evaluation. This may include Job Demands Analyses that may be used to support decision making in fitness for duty Stay-at-Work/Return-to-Work and accommodation planning. Utilizing outstanding communication skills the Injury Prevention Consultant supports a culture of safety by providing direction with respect to integrating injury prevention and safe patient handling and mobility into our daily operations.
