For more information please visit our website at Chaplain provides spiritual/religious counseling and ministry to patients and their families demonstrating competency in spiritual support and pastoral counseling as well as dealing with grief and death and the dying process. The Chaplain recognizes that during illness and suffering individuals rely on their spiritual resources to cope and seek meaning. Through the use of prayer pastoral counseling sacraments crisis intervention active listening and referrals a Chaplain is empowered to heal sustain guide and to reconcile patients family members and significant others. The Chaplain also provides a listening supportive presence to staff including physicians and refers them to appropriate resources when necessary. Incumbents in this position shall comply with all applicable laws and rules including the Dignity Health Standards of Conduct and Dignity Health policies and procedures that apply to his/her job responsibilities seek guidance when in doubt promptly report any potential or suspected violation of Dignity Health Standards of Conduct Dignity Health policy or procedure or applicable laws/regulations and when requested assist Dignity Health personnel in investigating all allegations of violation. When called upon the incumbent shall assist in risk evaluation and work collaboratively with facility/entity leaders to implement monitor and mitigate risk corrective plans outlined by the Compliance program.

Minimum Requirements:
Education and Experience:
Requires walking standing some bending and stooping. Must have good verbal skills and have adequate vision and hearing.
Knowledge of:
Hospice care. Principles of Death and Dying. Effective communication skills to work with interdisciplinary team. Beliefs and rituals of major religions.
