Job Description
REPORTS TO:
Directly: Logistics Supervisor/Foreman or Warehouse Lead
Indirectly: Logistics Manager
SUPERVISES: N/A
SUMMARY: To receive inspect inventory handle move issue kit and deliver materials in a safe accurate and efficient manner.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Logistics Associates shall carry out all tasks issued by the Logistics Supervisor/ Foreman in a safe and conscientious manner paying special attention to the quality of workmanship and value time management constantly. Tasks may include but are not limited to:
Receives all inbound materials and equipment by entering arrival reports and material inspections for quantity and quality into ERP System.
Properly counts inspects identifies inventories cycle count marks and issues materials through ERP System.
Issues and inventories consumable items.
Processes and packages equipment and materials for shipping storage or installation as required.
Must be able to follow directions and work with limited supervision.
Unloads and unpacks materials as they arrive on site.
Properly inventories and marks all materials requiring storage.
Ensures timely delivery of materials and support to the trades as directed.
Loads/unloads supplier and Austal company vehicles for delivery of materials as required.
Performs transactions in ERP system and other software systems utilizing PC and/or wireless scanning equipment. Utilize PC for other software applications email and Microsoft Office (Excel/Word) as needed.
Immediately informs Supervisor/Forman of any issues that may affect performance or ability to fulfill required tasks.
Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform daily functions of the job.
Carries assignments in a safe and conscientious manner paying special attention to the quality of workmanship and values time management constantly.
May be assigned tasks outside craft as required.
Issues and inventories tools includes tool engraving.
Delivers materials and tools to the trades as required
Assists with other duties as required
Complies with Austals employee handbook general guidelines company
procedures and policies.
For those performing this role for Post Delivery Services and Support the following responsibilities are required in addition to the aforementioned:
Safely use company assets to make deliveries from the warehouse to the dock.

QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE:
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability desired:
Working knowledge of procedures a basic understanding of warehousing and inventory management principles required.
Demonstrated problem solving skills and flexibility required.
Ability to read write and comprehend instructions short correspondence and memos required.
Ability to perform basic math (add subtract multiply and divide) and measure required.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form required.
Ability to effectively deal with problems that may arise required.
Must be able to follow directions and work with limited supervision required.
For those performing this role for Post Delivery Services and Support the following responsibilities are required in addition to the aforementioned:
Must possess and maintain a valid Drivers License.
Must be able to pass and maintain Austal driver qualifications listed below:
(A) Must be able to take and pass a National Safety Council - Defensive Driving Course that will be provided by Austal
(B) During the past three years not received one or more driver license violation for:
Driving while intoxicated (DWI)
Driving while under the influence of drugs (DUID)
Negligent homicide arising out of the use of a motor vehicle (gross negligence)
Operating during a period of suspension or revocation
Using a motor vehicle for the commission of a felony
Aggravated assault with a motor vehicle
Operating a motor vehicle without the owners authority (grand theft)
Permitting an unlicensed person to drive
Reckless driving
Leaving the scene of an accident
Speed contest (racing)
Hit and run (bodily injury or property damage)
Eluding a police officer.
(C). During the past three (3) years not received three (3) or more driver license violations for:
All moving violations not listed in B above.
ADDITIONAL GUIDELINES:
Candidates must meet the following employment eligibility guidelines to be considered for employment with Austal USA:
18 years of age or older at time of application
Able to provide proof of US Person Status
No felony convictions of Theft/Deception or Violent crimes within seven years from disposition date
No felony convictions of Drug crimes within three years from disposition date
Willing to submit to a drug screen
Willing to submit to a background check
TOOLS:
