Job Description


Job Summary

As a member of the nursing team with Corewell Health providing top-notch patient care is paramount. Youll be responsible for the care of our patients according to their individual plans unit routines and hospital policies. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse youll be a vital part of our team making a real difference in the lives of our patients and their families.


Essential Functions

  • Provides direct patient care under the direction of the Unit Manager or Licensed Nurse consistent with policies and procedures of the unit.
  • Responsible for direct day-to-day care of assigned residents/patients including dressing bathing transporting and feeding.
  • Documents care provided as directed in a manner consistent with guidelines.
  • Maintains patients environment/work area/equipment and communicates any equipment malfunctions to the appropriate department/unit personnel.
  • Complete and maintain required number of CNA educational hours.
  • Participation in select unit quality monitoring activities under the direction of the Unit Manager or Nurse Leader.

Qualifications
  • Required High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Required Completion of State of Michigan approved CNA Training Course
  • CRT-Nursing Assistant - Michigan Department of Licensing & Regulatory Affairs Bureau of Community and Health Systems Michigan Department of Licensing & Regulatory Affairs Bureau of Community and Health Systems UPON HIRE except WITHIN 90 DAYS RNCs (Fuller Kalamazoo Reed City United/Kelsey) Lakeland 120 days Upon Hire required
  • LIC-Drivers License - STATEMI State of Michigan Hospice Caring Circle Hospice except Hanson Hospice Center NRS Home Care and United/Kelsey/Reed City CNAs who transport patients off-site Upon Hire required
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association United/Kelsey Big Rapids Reed City Gerber & Continuing Care (except Hospice) BLS certification required for Caring Circle Hospice. 90 Days required Or
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross United/Kelsey Big Rapids Reed City Gerber & Continuing Care (except Hospice) BLS certification not required at Lakeland Pine Ridge long term care facility. BLS certification required for Caring Circle Hospice. 90 Days required
