Job Summary:
The Extrusion Maintenance Tech maintains and services all electrical and mechanical aspects in the Extrusion Department.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Must be able to service all temperature controls on extruders.
- Must be familiar with all extrusion equipment.
- Must help with all maintenance type duties mechanical and electrical.
- Follow all plant and Extrusion safety rules.
- Regularly maintain pack pressure spin finish waste buckets oil reservoirs tack box filters monomer and main resin hopper screens.
- Change packs jets spin finish totes and cooling drum filters as needed.
- Check compressors air dryers boilers and chillers.
- Keep work area clean and organized.
- Provide scheduled preventative maintenance and address any repairs.
- Report all defects and damages to maintenance supervisor.
- Maintain all records of repairs and maintenance conducted on the machines.
Performance Expectations (if applicable):
- Lifting is required of machinery and parts weighing up to 150 pounds.
- Standing is required approximately 7 hours per shift.
- Reaching is required of machinery and parts approximately 100 times per shift.
- Stooping is required 4 times per shift.
- Bending is required approximately 40 times per shift for machinery and parts.
- Must use hand tools approximately 40 times per shift.
- Must be able to distinguish colors and shades.
Experience/Education Requirements:
- Preferred but not required Associates degree or equivalent experience in electrical or mechanical systems.
- Maintenance experience in similar field.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be able to do basic addition subtraction division and multiplication.
- Computer knowledge and data entry skills.
Other Requirements:
- Must be able to operate a lift truck.
- Overtime is required on occasion.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- All accidents must be reported immediately.
- Normal mobility no abnormal fear of heights or confined spaces.
- Valid drivers license.
