Overview:
An analyst is typically involved in numerous deals and projects at the same time and will work with several senior group members the requirements of multiple deal assignments and/or projects can be very demanding. The challenging nature of the work combined with long hours at the office requires intense effort and dedication. Analysts must also be willing to work extended business hours including weekends as required to meet multiple work deadlines.

Position Highlights:
In this role you will be an Analyst in Technology Investment Banking located in San Francisco CA. You will enjoy a stimulating and challenging work environment in which you execute a broad range of transactions. Analysts focus on client presentations financial modeling and industry/company research. As your career progresses you will take on increased responsibilities on live transactions and participate in business development under the guidance of senior group members. Scotiabank brings new analysts in contact with senior team members and clients at the earliest possible stage allowing them to gain experience in managing and cultivating relationships.

What Youll Do

  • Generally support client pitches and deal execution efforts
  • Evaluate and analyze the financial needs of corporate clients including the development of financial models marketing materials and presentations
  • Financial and written analysis of companies and industries including the development of valuation models pro-forma financial statements and comparable company analysis etc.
  • Source data required to perform financial analysis
  • Draft prospectuses and marketing presentations for transactions
  • Prepare client presentations
  • Apply product and capital markets knowledge to help clients achieve their financial objectives.
  • Actively partner with group leaders and broader team to build reinforce and maintain positive team dynamics engagement and morale
  • Actively contribute to a high performance inclusive work environment


What Youll Bring

  • 1 year of investment banking or related experience
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree within Business Economics Accounting Technology Mathematics and related fields
  • Proven record of outstanding achievement in academic and extracurricular activities
  • A clearly defined interest in investment banking
  • Strong quantitative skills focused on financial analysis accounting and financial theory
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high standard of work
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to new situations
  • Strong sense of personal integrity and teamwork
  • High level of energy and a keen desire to learn new concepts
  • Obtain and maintain required FINRA registration and licensing appropriate to your functions and responsibilities
