  • 33366 per annum (pro rata if part time)
  • 37 hours per week- Flexible working options available

Your role and responsibilities

As a Risk and Resilience Officer - Emergency Planning Support you will:

  • support partner organisations by researching information to support multiagency emergency plans
  • oversee the multiagency emergency plan template and format multiagency emergency plans before publication
  • support the business continuity leads across partners and increase multiagency BC workstreams and outputs
  • support plan and risk leads and drive forward workstreams to support specific plan areas such as National Power Outage and Pandemics.
  • have responsibilities within the Multiagency information Cell (MAIC) including collecting data and creating useable outputs
  • liaise with partner agencies providing a central reporting procedure and periodic reports highlighting impact risks concerns and actions for government departments and the SRF
  • support the multiagency debrief and lessons identified process ensuring that they are incorporated into relevant SRF plans
  • provide an effective and efficient business management and support service to the SRF under the direction of the SRF Partnership and Deputy Manager (line manager)
  • provide a routine point of contact for Category 1 and 2 responders and the voluntary sector
  • provide support to the Suffolk Strategic and Tactical Coordination process during emergencies
  • assist with secretariat support to our partners by assisting with plan writing meeting programming exercise coordination support and report writing.

You will need

  • an interest in emergency planning and resilience experience is not necessary as this role provides a great pathway into emergency planning and resilience
  • be willing to learn and expand your knowledge around multiagency working and emergency planning
  • need great organisational skills be self-motivated be able to work under pressure and through quieter periods and be able to work under your own esteem
  • great communication skills and empathy working within a multiagency environment means liaison with a wide range of partners and complex work stream.

Experience of project management would be desirable along with experience of being flexible to adapt to changing timelines.

The team

The Suffolk Resilience Forum (SRF) team is hosted by Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service and is due to expand over the next year. We are currently transitioning to a new structure which includes strategic leadership from the Chief Resilience Officer (CRO).

Our teams primary objective is to support partner agencies to be compliant with the Civil Contingencies Act (2004).

All roles are on the SRF on-call rota to provide support to major incidents in Suffolk and support the county Tactical and Strategic Coordination function and the Multi Agency Information Cell.

Our team tends to work 2-3 days a week in office which can be at Endeavour House Landmark House and Police HQ although can include other sites across Suffolk. The main partnership work is carried out on Working on Wednesday WoW days which are normally hosted at Police Headquarters and Tuesdays are team working days usually based at Endeavour House.
