About the role
NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service is inviting an adventurous and passionate Supplementary Pest Control (SPC) Operations Supervisor to join our collaborative and supportive team. Our Area staff are passionate about the spectacular reserves they manage. Our teams bring their full self to the job every day helping drive innovation for us. The SPC Operations Supervisor plays a critical role in preserving our natural environment. This leadership role coordinates and supervises volunteer shooters to ensure supplementary pest control activities are integrated with NPWS pest management activities and are undertaken safely and effectively with a strong focus on achieving a reduction in the impacts of pest animals on reserve values.

The role will require you to travel regularly for approximately one week every three weeks to work in remote locations.
About you
Your skills and knowledge of pest control and land management strategies will help build your success in this role. Youll create a positive safe diverse and inclusive culture and be a strong decision-maker with the ability to think on your feet you have a genuine interest in teamwork and collaboration. Your fitness and enthusiasm will enable you to thrive and succeed in this diverse fast-paced role. The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of legislation relating to firearms and previous experience in pest animal and knowledge of national park management. You will also have a demonstrated ability to promote a culture of integrity and professionalism in teams with a focus on helping others understand their obligations to comply with legislation policies guidelines and codes of conduct.
Essential requirements
NOTE: Successful applicants must obtain Senior First Aid cross-cut chainsaw certification and 4WD certification within the first three-months of commencing in the role.
This position is a 7 day work roster and will require work on weekends and public holidays.
This is a physically active role suited to candidates of all genders who are fit enjoy working outdoors as part of a team and are eager to learn and develop the skills and qualifications needed to contribute toward improving and maintaining some of NSWs most precious natural places.
All required training and assessments will be provided by NPWS.
