Overview
Element has an opportunity for a Principal Test Technician to join our expanding Polymer Fluid Exposure team. This position works with high temperature/high pressure (HTHP) autoclaves with liquid and gas environments including high sour conditions. It requires a strong mechanical aptitude and experience with hydraulic systems.
As a member of the operations team the Principal Test Technician position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department and ensures timely and accurate test results under minimal direct supervision. The technician positions must be proficient in a number of core business skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules code of conduct and company policies and procedures.
Salary: $70000.00 - $100000.00 yr DOE
Responsibilities
- This position will work with high pressure/high temperature (HTHP) autoclaves operating in liquid and gas conditions.
- Designs sets-up and performs a variety of test according to customer specifications and requirements
- Possess the ability to mentor and train technicians who have less experience through effective communication of technical data
- Ability to transfer technical knowledge/requirements and successfully satisfy and meet customer specifications
Skills / Qualifications
- Requires very little supervision and technical input of a Department Manager Principal Technician Project Coordinator or Engineer
- Possesses a recognized scientific or engineering qualification normally at a Bachelor degree level and/or 8-10 years of significant experience in HTHP testing through which an equivalent level of knowledge has been attained
In-depth understanding of testing concepts
Requires strong mechanical aptitude
Requires experience with hydraulic systems
Requires experience with HTHP autoclaves with liquid and gas environments
Preferred experience safely working with sour gas environments
Physical Demands:
- Frequency of required physical force: Daily
- Lifting requirements: lifting <50 lbs. often and >50 lbs. on occasion
- Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs periodically
- Ability to physically apply high torque force
- Must be able to pass respirator fit test
