Description

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the design and development of new service kits and service hardware tools ensuring they meet functional and performance requirements.
  • Manage and execute one-time project opportunities from conceptualization to successful implementation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to define product specifications components and requirements for new kits and tooling.
  • Develop prototypes and conduct testing to validate new designs and ensure robustness safety and reliability.
  • Work with manufacturing teams to ensure smooth transition from design to production for retro fits kits to new tools and product kits.
  • Provide technical expertise and leadership throughout the development process resolving any design or production issues that may arise.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for designs including specifications reports and test results.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency in the design and production of service tooling and kits.
  • Develop and create product design improvement for the products that Vertiv services to prolong product life.
  • Ensure all projects adhere to industry standards company guidelines and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source materials and components required for new designs.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree in engineering (Mechanical Electrical or a related field) required. Masters degree preferred
  • Certification in Change Management (e.g. APMG Change Management or similar) is a plus.
  • Experience in the electronics power systems thermal/HVAC or related industries.
  • Knowledge of risk management and failure analysis techniques such as FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis).
  • Green Belt or Six Sigma certification is a plus.
  • 3 years of experience in project engineering product development or a related field.
  • Experience in the design and development of service tooling kits or similar products.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD SolidWorks) and other engineering design tools.
  • Ability to manage and execute multiple projects simultaneously ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations for product design and development is a plus.
