Under the direction of Security Services Administration the Security Manager will be the lead for 24/7 operations of the UCSF Health or Campus Security Divisions as assigned. In this role the Security Manager will be the primary manager for any UCSF Health hospitals and clinics or Campus locations they are assigned to. Duties include but arenot limited to the following:
- Act as liaison with numerous other UCSF Health and Campus departments including but not limited to the Lock Shop Engineering Telecomm and UCPD.
- Supervise staff and maintain the records for Security Services.
- Coordinating training and compliance needs.
- The ability to work independently and effectively perform and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Assist the Director with the Workplace Violence Prevention (WVP) Program and support the WVP Committee and will be required to work collaboratively with various stakeholders across the organization.
- Bachelors degree or four years of relevant experience.
- A min. of 1.6 years or more of experience managing/leading safety operations and security programs to include finance and budget management.
- Specialized training certification and/or experience in diffusing assaultive behavior i.e. Certification in some form of diffusion assaultive behavior training (managing assaultive behavior Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) McAfee Institute).
- Valid California Drivers License.
- Excellent Customer Service skills.
- Proven ability to perform train and supervise all aspects of thesecurity function including but not limited to working collaboratively alongside multi-cultural opposite gender LGBTQ aging and disabled populations. Ability to facilitate various groups and sizes for training education and meetings.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in mentoring and advising employees. Actively cooperates and supports the work of others.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal & written) and the ability to actively listen provide advice to and counsel employees and the desire to relate with employees problem-solving skills and good judgment.
- Ability to quickly evaluate issues identify options for resolution and solve problems under pressure. Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and execute plans to meet deadlines.
- Ability to assess complex issues strong analytical and problem-solving skills able to work independently good organizational and computer skills (MS Office Suite).
- Motivated to seek continued education.
- California State Guard Card.
- Broad knowledge of Human Resources and UC policies and processes.
- Prior experience in the health care field in a position involving considerable judgment and discretion.
- Background in Workplace Violence Prevention Program Implementation and investigation of incidents.
