Remuneration:Level B from $119440 plus 17% super annual leave loading

Why this role matters:
UNSW Canberra is seeking a Lecturer in International and Political Studies to join the School of Humanities and Social Sciences. This role is ideal for a dynamic academic with a passion for teaching and research in politics international relations or a related field. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality education advancing the Schools research profile and contributing to a vibrant academic community.
This genuinely balanced role offerslower teaching loads relative to other universities giving youdedicated time to pursue impactful research. Youll contribute to both undergraduate and postgraduate teachingapproximately half of your teaching will be at each levelwith a mix ofon-campus delivery and online postgraduate engagement.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective teaching in politics and international relations particularly at the undergraduate level.
- Design and develop innovative learning activities and assessments.
- Conduct high-quality research and contribute to the Schools research output and impact.
- Supervise research students and contribute to academic mentoring.
- Participate in School and Faculty committees and contribute to academic administration.
- Maintain professional development in pedagogy and disciplinary knowledge.
About You:
- A PhD in politics political philosophy international relations security studies or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching and curriculum development particularly in foundational and first-year courses.
- A strong research track record with evidence of high-quality publications and research impact.
- Commitment to equity diversity and inclusion in teaching and research.
- Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Eligibility:
The successful candidate will be required to undertake pre-employment checks including verification of qualifications criminal history identification and Australian work rights.
