As a Grid Integration Engineer specializing in Power Plant Controllers (PPC) you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless integration and optimal performance of advanced control systems within the power grid.

Your responsibilities:

  • Integrate renewable energy sources (solar/wind) energy storage systems and other technologies into the grid infrastructure.
  • Configure and Calibrate PPC systems to meet specific plant and grid needs.
  • Monitor PPC system Performance for optimal efficiency.
  • Perform technical analyses simulations and modeling to evaluate the impact of new technologies and integration methods on the grid.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues related to grid integration and performance.
  • Manage and execute system upgrades with minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
  • Follow industry regulations and safety standards for all PPC operations and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to enhance system performance.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed documentation related to integration processes technical specifications and project outcomes.
  • Experience in power systems simulation Matlab Simulink and if possible some experience using PSCAD PowerFactory or PSSE.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you need to have:

  • Bachelors degree in Industrial/Electrical/Energy/Electronics Engineering (or other relevant disciplines)
  • 1-2 years of working experience
  • Good communication skills in Spanish and English both written and verbal
  • Specific Knowledge about:
    • Electric Power System
    • Power Electronics in Solar/Wind Industry
    • Renewable Systems and market
    • Control and Automation
    • Linux and Scripting
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint
  • Enthusiasm and self-motivation including a willingness to develop and enjoy taking on challenges and responsibilities
  • Interest in:
    • Controls of Renewable plants
    • BESS integration in the RE Plants
    • Creation of Tools and Web Interfaces over different systems to automate procedures.

Additionally it is nice to have:

  • Previous renewable energy consulting project management electronics experience or credentials
  • Project Management skills proactivity and customer-centricity
  • Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese highly valued.
