Job Description

Overview

As a Sonographer at CHI St. Alexius Health Devils Lake youll provide good quality examinations on patients using various ultrasound equipment.The Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all times and is self-motivated to increase level of understanding and knowledge of the field disease and new procedures as they evolve.

Every day you will perform various tests on apply your independent judgment relative to all technical imaging procedures for patients.

To thrive in this role you are self-motivated and able to take ownership of projects/assignments; you understand sonography methods and are capable of performing venipuncture as required for position. Youre able to demonstrate ability to set and maintain multiple tasks in an environment with shifting priorities while providing accurate deliverables in a timely fashion. Yourea team player withexcellent follow-up and customer service skills including strong interpersonal verbal and writing skills to provide excellence to both guests and team members.

About Us:

CHI St. Alexius Health Devils Lake Hospital is a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital accredited by The Joint Commission licensed by the North Dakota State Department of Health and certified by the Department of Health and Human Services for participation in the Medicare Program. Our hospital has been committed to providing patients quality medical treatment in the Lake Region area and surrounding communities since 1902.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes innovative customer service techniques to provide a positive patient care experience for the patient and their family.
  • Correctly operates ultrasound equipment within scope of practice.
  • Perform a variety of complex specialized tasks utilizing ultrasonic high frequency sound waves to detect abnormalities including masses abscesses and stones.
  • Assists physicians with biopsy procedures guided biopsy instruments using sonographic techniques.
  • Able to utilize electronic health records including utilizing PACS and the essential functions of the system.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Radiology or Ultrasonography.
  • North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy State License (Sonographer: ND).
  • One (1) year of sonography experience required.
  • American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography - ARDMS board certification - within 12 months
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Knowledgeable in basic computer skills PACS and Meditech
