The Role: Veterinary Assistant
Veterinary Assistants at Anderson VC are essential to daily operations and patient care. Youll support our doctors and RVTs with treatments diagnostics surgical prep and patient monitoringwhile also acting as a point of calm clear communication with our clients.
We are looking for someone who is present motivated adaptable and reliable. Our best assistants anticipate needs stay focused and are accountable to the team and our patients.
Core Responsibilities
Support patient care through handling restraint and accurate documentation
Prepare patients for surgery and assist with monitoring during anesthetic procedures
Perform treatments and administer medications under veterinary supervision
Maintain cleanliness and readiness of all treatment exam and surgical areas
Actively engage in patient monitoring especially post-operative care and recovery
Communicate clearly and kindly with clients about patient status and care instructions
Follow safety protocols for handling controlled substances and biohazards
Support your teammates: step in speak up and follow through

Preferred Qualifications
1 year experience in a veterinary or animal care setting
Experience assisting with surgery anesthesia monitoring or dental procedures is a plus
Familiarity with Vetspire (our EMR system) is helpful but not required
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs stand for long periods and work around noise odors and animals of all temperaments

Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience with a hourly pay range from $20-$22 hour. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors including your skills qualifications experience and location.
