At North Somerset Educational Psychology Service we are a small close-knit team with a strong supportive culture. Each EP in our team leads on an area of interest providing opportunities to develop specialist expertise and influence the direction of our service. EPs also enjoy a breadth of work including the development and delivery of training ELSA and SENCO supervision organisational research traded work in schools and TEP supervision.
As an impact-driven team we are committed to using psychology to create impactful positive change for children and young people. Recent evaluations of our casework highlight this impact showing for example a 15.39% increase in students sense of belonging and a 13.6% reduction in concerns measured by the SDQ. By gathering this data we support our EPs to see the difference they are making.
The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and forward-thinking Educational Psychologist to join us in delivering high-quality psychological services to schools across North Somerset. This is an exciting opportunity to combine direct practice with leadership innovation and strategic development.
Key Responsibilities:
This position is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
Valid driving licence and own transport or be able to provide alternative suitable method of travel is an essential condition for this role.
This position is currently based at our Town Hall offices in Weston-Super-Mare.
Work Style
At North Somerset Council we offer a hybrid working environment based on four distinct work styles. Depending on the role and personal circumstances you will fall into one of these categories. However please note that during the induction period it may be necessary to spend more time in the office to support your learning and development.
