The Research Assistant contributes to a particular research study or division by assisting with study administration by providing general administrative support and by maintaining study data.
40% Study/Clinical Trial Administration
Completes Case Report Forms in conjunction with PI Manager and/or Coordinator
Processes & submits forms to Research Ethics Board (REB)
Prepares specimens for shipment
Contacts study subjects to book diagnostic/clinical tests assessments & appointments
Administers scores & records results for study tests
Assists with subject screening by accessing patient charts
30% Administrative Support
Acts as point of contact by providing information/direction when answering screening & referring inquiries
Replies to correspondence & composes/edits letters documents etc
Orders & maintains supplies
Attends records & distributes minutes for meetings
Faxes photocopies books rooms catering & meetings etc
Coordinates incoming/outgoing mail & arranges for courier services
Processes invoices & financial payments
Acquires signatures for regulatory documents
25% Data management
Collects data related to study
Develops/maintains filing systems for subject & study documentation
Files study documents test results etc
Develops/maintains methods of tracking information through databases & spreadsheets
Enters summarizes & analyses data using database/spreadsheets
Archives documentation related to study develops/maintains method of retrieval from storage
5% Performs other related duties as required
