As theTax Administrator Scotiatrust Canadian Wealth Managementyou will contribute to the overall success of a Scotiatrust Taxation Services unit in Canada ensuring specific individualgoals plans initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the teams business strategies and ensure all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations internal policies and procedures.
In this role you will:
Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bankrelationships systems and knowledge.
Prepare income tax returns by proactively gathering and analysing all relevant supporting documentationsuch as income statements transactions tax slips capital gains & losses statements fees deductions andrelevant credits.
Discuss tax rules and tax elections with the Tax Officer Associate Tax Officer and/or Manager Taxationand assess client tax situations performs detailed analysis undertakes research and provides suggestionsaround specific courses of action in less complex situations.
Understands how the Banks risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activitiesand decisions.
Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas while ensuring thorough knowledgeof and strict adherence to the Banks Global Sales Practices ensuring the adequacy adherence to andeffectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk regulatorycompliance risk AML/ATF risk and conduct risk including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational RiskManagement Framework Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework AML/ATF Global Handbook and theGuidelines for Business Conduct.

Do you have the skills and requirements that will enable you to succeed in this role Wed love to work with you if have:
Post-secondary degree or diploma
Willingness to complete the STEP or CSI Taxation Courses and keeps up-to-date with respect to legislative changes particularly the frequent changes to the taxation of individuals estates trusts corporations and registered charities
Excellent computer skills are required particularly in the use of tax preparation programs and MS Office SalesForce and the Broadridge Trust System
Dimensions:
Total Tax Revenue / assigned tax preparation engagements $500000 to $2000000
Total assigned tax preparation engagements / 400 to 750
Daily regulatory remitting and tax filing deadlines
Daily interaction with Canada Revenue Agency Revenue Quebec and internal partners
Periodic interaction with clients
