    QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. Valid California teaching credential and/or Career Technology Education teaching credential authorizing service in area of assignment
    2. Appropriate Library Media Teacher Services credential
    3. Successful classroom teaching experience or five years experience inlibrary media or related field
    4. Understanding of literacy development curriculum design and inclusive instructional practices
    5. Knowledge of diverse literature information literacy and digital citizenship
    6. Ability to analyze and interpret data
    7. Ability to work collaboratively with others

    REPORTS TO:Administrator as assigned

    JOB GOAL:To lead development and support of inclusive literacy-rich library programs that inspire lifelong love of reading promote equitable access to resources and cultivate students ability to think critically research effectively and use information ethically in both print and digital environments

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
    1. Champions culture of literacy by promoting diverse high-interestliterature that reflects students identities and fosters love of reading
    2. Develops maintains organizes and evaluates print and digital resources to ensure inclusive collections that align with literacy goals studentinterests and academic standards
    3. Leads districtwide literacy initiatives that align with curricular and instructional priorities including independent reading and content-area literacy
    4. Partners with library personnel to integrate reading research and citation skills into all content areas
    5. Ensures that all students have equitable access to rich array of library resources and services that affirm their backgrounds interests andstrengths and actively includes student voice in the selection of books to reflect their diverse perspectives and preferences
    6. Provides resources and outreach that support all students including multilingual learners students with disabilities and underrepresented populations
    7. Collaborates with library personnel to maintain engaging student-centered library spaces across the district
    8. Provides training and support for library personnel on fostering literacy using library materials effectively and incorporating digital media to support reading
    9. Collects and analyzes data on library usage literacy outcomes and program effectiveness to inform continuous improvement
    10. Demonstrates clear consistent and responsive communication with all educational partners including students families library personneleducators administrators and community organizations
    11. Leads district library programming and policy development in alignment with strategic literacy goals
    12. Models personal and professional values of equity integrity caring collaboration and personal and collective accountability
    13. Performs other duties as assigned
    SALARY: $71526 -$141798 anually (199 day. Max. salary includes education and bilingual stipends)

    EVALUATION:Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with theDistricts Improvement of Professional Services handbookBoardPolicies and Proceduresand consistent with collectivebargaining agreements when applicable

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

    Some positions may require proof of privately owned automobile insurance and the possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle operators license. Fingerprint clearance by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met. Must present verification of completion of Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training or obtain verification within six (6) weeks of hire and annually thereafter as required by the California Child Abuse Neglect Reporting Act and completion of Sexual Harrassment Prevention training.
