Job Title: Application Engineer
Location: Glasgow
About the Role:
On behalf of our client a leading player in the electrical engineering sector we are currently recruiting for an experienced Application Engineer to join their Glasgow-based team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with a strong technical background and a passion for customer-focused solutions to play a key role in the delivery of bespoke engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the sales function by identifying customer needs and formulating technical proposals.
Deliver pre-sales technical assistance addressing detailed queries regarding product capabilities.
Participate in client meetings to ensure proposed solutions meet both technical and commercial requirements.
Occasionally lead technical presentations and product demonstrations.
Assess technical application of both in-house and third-party products to determine optimal solutions.
Provide ongoing technical support post-sale ensuring any issues are swiftly resolved.
Liaise with engineering production and customer service teams to ensure projects are delivered to specification.
Candidate Requirements:
HNC or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline ideally electrical.
Minimum 3 years experience in a technical sales or applications engineering role; exposure to switchgear or power distribution products is advantageous.
Technically astute with the ability to understand and explain complex concepts clearly.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the confidence to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Team-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to problem solving.
