Job Description
Our client is seeking an Senior-Lead Level Java engineer for engineering and delivery of microservices and APIs to support Customer Data. The team supports various mid-layer services across the organization and to external partners and is seeking a strong Java Engineer with cloud experience.
Best qualified candidates will have strong experiences in Java 8 Cloud Containerization Data Streaming and Agile/Scrum.

Job Duties -
Be an active participant in all scrum ceremonies and lead in the delivery of the strategic roadmap.
Help define project scope & specifications and estimate resources required to develop the proposed solution.
Ensure that specifications and requirements are clearly articulated to the development teams and monitor timelines & progress.
Propose technical solutions.
Delivery of well-designed high-quality fully functional properly tested features fixes and enhancements.
Responsible for the full application development lifecycle and support.
Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance.
Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and new technologies and presenting these for architectural review.
Troubleshooting and debugging to optimize performance.
Provide subject matter expertise and direction guidance and support on complex engagements.
Job Requirements -
7 years of engineering
6 years experience with Java 8
4 years experience with Spring Boot
4 years experience with Containers (Docker and orchestration ie: Kubernetes or EKS or Redhat)
4 years experience with Azure or AWS
Strong understanding of microservices and HTTP/REST
4 years experience with test automation (jbehave cucumber selenium junit)
4 years experience in an Agile/Scrum team (backlog refinement standups code reviews JIRA or ADO etc.)
Desired Skills & Experience -
Streaming/messaging: Kafka NATS Kinesis or Event Hub are strongly desired
Datadog or New Relic a plus
Elastic Search a plus
Apigee a plus
