Experience:
- At least 6 years of experience in maintenance management in a manufacturing environment with preference given to experience in the radiator or automotive parts industry.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintenance Strategy and Planning:
- Develop implement and oversee a comprehensive maintenance strategy for the plant s machinery equipment and facilities.
- Create and maintain a preventive maintenance (PM) schedule to minimize unscheduled downtime and extend the lifespan of critical manufacturing equipment including radiators welding machines assembly lines and painting systems.
- Plan and manage resources for all maintenance activities to ensure optimal operational efficiency and prevent delays in production schedules.
- Team Leadership and Supervision:
- Manage a team of skilled maintenance technicians and workers providing leadership and fostering a collaborative environment.
- Coordinate daily activities assign tasks and ensure that maintenance tasks are completed on time and according to the plant s needs.
- Provide coaching training and performance evaluations to enhance the teams technical skills and adherence to safety standards.
- Lead by example in ensuring high standards of safety quality and productivity.
- Troubleshooting and Repairs:
- Supervise and support the troubleshooting and repair of malfunctioning or broken equipment focusing on minimizing production downtime.
- Coordinate and oversee emergency maintenance and repairs for critical systems ensuring quick resolution of any issues that may affect radiator production.
- Ensure efficient use of downtime for maintenance tasks in line with production priorities.
- Equipment and Facility Maintenance:
- Ensure the proper functioning of all plant equipment used in radiator manufacturing including fabrication machines painting systems heat exchangers and assembly lines.
- Oversee maintenance for the facility including HVAC systems electrical infrastructure lighting and safety equipment.
- Manage spare parts inventory and ensure availability of necessary components to avoid delays in repair activities.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with industry safety standards plant protocols and government regulations.
- Implement and monitor adherence to safety procedures including lock-out/tag-out procedures proper handling of hazardous materials and emergency response plans.
- Promote a safety-first culture ensuring that the maintenance team follows proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) guidelines and maintains safe working conditions.
- Budget Management and Cost Control:
- Develop and manage the maintenance department budget ensuring that costs stay within acceptable limits while maintaining plant equipment.
- Identify and implement cost-effective solutions for repairs maintenance and procurement of spare parts.
- Track expenditures related to maintenance and equipment repairs and report on financial performance and maintenance costs to upper management.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Lead initiatives for continuous improvement of maintenance practices to increase operational efficiency reduce downtime and improve the plant s overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Evaluate the performance of equipment suggest improvements and support the installation or upgrade of new machinery to enhance productivity.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in industrial maintenance and recommend new tools or equipment that could improve plant operations.
- Vendor Management and External Support:
- Work closely with external contractors suppliers and service providers for specialized repairs or maintenance tasks that cannot be handled in-house.
- Negotiate service contracts evaluate vendor performance and ensure the timely delivery of quality services and products.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities including work orders maintenance logs and inspections.
- Prepare detailed maintenance reports highlighting performance metrics equipment status and ongoing or completed projects.
- Report regularly to plant management on maintenance performance equipment conditions and department needs.
Qualifications:
- Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering Industrial Engineering or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Certifications in maintenance management such as CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) training or relevant safety certifications (OSHA etc. are advantageous.
