Key Responsibilities:
- Plant Operations Management:
- Oversee daily operations of the CRGO unit to ensure high-quality production of grain-oriented electrical steel.
- Ensure that production targets are met in a timely manner and within budget constraints.
- Coordinate with various departments (production maintenance quality logistics etc. for smooth operations.
- Monitor and optimize production processes for cost efficiency and improved output.
- Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead and manage plant staff including department heads and supervisors to ensure a high-performance work culture.
- Provide guidance mentorship and development opportunities for plant employees.
- Foster a team-oriented environment to improve collaboration and problem-solving.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure the plant adheres to safety regulations and industry standards.
- Establish and enforce safety protocols conducting regular safety audits and training sessions for employees.
- Ensure environmental regulations are followed and the plant meets sustainability goals.
- Production Planning and Inventory Control:
- Develop production plans and schedules to meet market demands while ensuring operational efficiency.
- Manage inventory levels and ensure effective material utilization.
- Monitor raw material procurement storage and usage to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Quality Control:
- Ensure all products meet the quality specifications required for CRGO steel which are essential for electrical applications.
- Implement quality management systems and lead initiatives to continuously improve product quality.
- Address quality issues quickly and lead corrective actions when necessary.
- Financial and Budget Management:
- Prepare and manage the plants annual budget ensuring financial targets are met.
- Monitor operational costs and identify areas for cost reduction.
- Report on financial performance to senior management and take corrective actions when necessary.
- Maintenance and Equipment Management:
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of all equipment and machinery in the CRGO unit.
- Ensure plant assets are regularly maintained to avoid unexpected downtime and improve asset longevity.
- Plan and oversee capital investment projects for plant expansion or equipment upgrades.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements innovation and optimization.
- Promote a culture of lean manufacturing and implement best practices for production efficiency.
- Stakeholder Communication:
- Maintain strong communication with internal and external stakeholders including suppliers customers and senior management.
- Prepare and present regular performance reports to upper management.
Qualifications:
- Education: A bachelor s degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical Electrical Metallurgical or Industrial Engineering) or related fields. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- Experience: At least 10-15 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with a minimum of 7 years in a managerial position preferably in steel manufacturing or CRGO plant .
- Skills:
- Strong leadership communication and team management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of CRGO steel production processes and quality standards.
- Expertise in plant operations financial management and cost control.
