Job Description
Our client a major Canadian financial institution with a national presence and global reputation is looking to hire a Senior Business Systems Analyst who serves as a technical liaison between business units and technology teams delivering system-level business requirements for complex high-risk or strategic initiatives. This role guides the end-to-end process of requirements management from planning through solution delivery requiring deep expertise in systems analysis domain knowledge and a collaborative approach to drive innovation efficiency and value.
Term: 1-Year Contract
Location: Toronto ON / London ON / Montreal QC (hybrid)
What Youll Do
System Requirements Management:
- Plan elicit analyze and document detailed functional and non-functional requirements
- Lead requirements traceability through design development testing and deployment
- Ensure acceptance criteria demonstrate system changes meet stakeholder expectations
Technical & Business Collaboration
- Collaborate with stakeholders and technology teams to identify solutions supporting business goals
- Provide guidance on system integration impacts and future-state design
- Serve as a subject matter expert in both business operations and system architecture
Testing and Quality Assurance
- Translate requirements into test conditions and support user acceptance testing
- Promote scalable reusable and innovative solutions aligned to enterprise standards
Operational & Strategic Support
- Support implementation and post-implementation activities
- Participate in business case development vendor RFPs and SLAs
- Maintain ongoing knowledge of system components interfaces and data flows
Leadership & Innovation
- Provide coaching and mentorship to other analysts
- Act as lead analyst on high-risk or strategic projects
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation in analysis practices and tools
- Actively contribute to change management and readiness planning
Requirements
What You Bring
Experience
- 7 years of progressive experience in business systems analysis or related technology functions
- Demonstrated success delivering requirements for enterprise-scale initiatives in Agile and Waterfall environments

- Advanced to expert knowledge of systems analysis practices enterprise architecture and integration
- Deep understanding of business operations and system functionality
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking
- Effective communicator and influencer across business and technical audiences
- Committed to continuous improvement and professional development
Education
- Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate in Information Systems Business or related field
- Graduate degree is considered an asset
- Business Systems Analysis or Agile certification preferred
