Job Description

AbbVie Process Chemistry is seeking a Peptide Chemist Senior Scientist I to conduct process research and development of small molecules including Peptides from pre-clinical through early clinical phases.
Key Responsibilities:
The candidate will conduct process development and characterization for peptides and other modalities as a member of chemistry teams.
Develop and characterize peptide (or other modalities) processes in the laboratory and translate them to scalable processes.
Apply new methods and technologies to meet project goals.
Provide significant contributions to technical memos and reports.
The position involves multi-disciplinary interactions with organic chemists analytical chemists engineers drug product development and program management.
The candidate will maintain and apply state-of-the-art chemical knowledge to solving challenging problems.
The candidate will be responsible for developing chemical processes understanding overall synthetic strategy and collaborating to develop timely solutions in a matrixed team setting.
Qualifications :
Bachelors Masters or PhD Degree in Organic Chemistry with typically 10 (BS) 8 (MS) or 0 (PhD) years of experience. Candidates with less experience may be considered for other opportunities.
Experience in modern synthetic peptide chemistry.
Proven scientific creativity; strong interpersonal and communication skills for facilitating collaborations on cross-functional process development teams.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of modern synthetic peptide chemistry mechanistic reasoning analytical techniques and experimental design.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs.
