Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Duty Engineer to join our team in Grand Mercure Bangalore India. As a Duty Engineer you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our facilitys engineering systems contributing to an exceptional guest experience and efficient operations.
- Oversee and maintain all engineering and maintenance systems to ensure optimal performance
- Conduct regular inspections of mechanical electrical and plumbing systems
- Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC elevators lighting and fire safety systems
- Respond promptly and efficiently to guest and staff maintenance requests
- Troubleshoot and repair minor electrical plumbing and mechanical issues
- Supervise the maintenance team and coordinate with contractors when necessary
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance schedules equipment performance and repairs
- Ensure compliance with local safety regulations and building codes
- Assist in implementing energy conservation efforts and sustainability initiatives
- Report major breakdowns and recommend necessary upgrades or replacements
- Collaborate with other departments to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for guests and staff
- Participate in budget planning for maintenance and repairs
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programmes
- Conduct safety training for staff on equipment operation and emergency procedures
- Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment
- Collaborate with procurement team to source high-quality materials and tools
Qualifications :
- Diploma or Degree in Engineering (Mechanical Electrical or related field)
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in hotel or facility maintenance
- In-depth knowledge of HVAC electrical plumbing and fire safety systems
- Strong ability to troubleshoot and handle emergency repairs efficiently
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
- Flexibility to work in shifts including weekends and holidays
- Familiarity with building management systems and maintenance management software
- Knowledge of local building codes and safety regulations in Mumbai
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to providing exceptional service
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of Hindi or Marathi is a plus
