Job Summary:

This position serves as a supervisor of a team of Insurance Analysts in the Risk Management Department. The position is responsible for reviewing insurance requirements for contracts permits and third party vendors for indemnification and risk transfer while ensuring compliance with applicable federal and state laws rules and regulations. Will provide consultation and technical advice on insurance requirements and contract language. Serves as a subject matter expert in commercial insurance and contract requirements.

This position may offer the ability to work remotely within Arizona based upon the departments business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

All work including remote work should be performed within Arizona unless an exception is properly authorized in advance.

Job Duties:

Manage a team of Insurance Analysts and verify the team makes accurate indemnification approvals based on contract requirements. Establish measures standards and processes to ensure accuracy. Provide leadership/expertise train mentor and coach the team for program compliance requirements and knowledge transfer.

Review Certificate of Insurance forms and endorsements as required for contracts permits and third party vendors for indemnification/risk transfer. Monitor team output to meet deadlines; as well establish measures standards and processes for the program.

Generate processes and standards of work. Build relationships with internal customers providing presentations and training on insurance requirements.

Create and/or maintain policies/procedures necessary to achieve compliance with the Arizona Department of Administration Legislature and the Attorney General reduce exposure/risk.

Act as a liaison with cross divisional groups the Arizona Department of Administration and Attorney Generals office to review complex contract agreements and insurance contract language for state exposures and mitigations.

Maintain and manage systems databases and metric dashboards necessary to meet business requirements and generate reports necessary for evaluation analysis and performance measurements. Gather data from internal customers and assess training needs. Review proposed legislation affecting areas of expertise.

Participate in focus groups with industry partners to stay up to date with standards.

Selective Preference(s):

One-Two (1-2) years supervisory experience.
Experience managing a program.
Proven experience with commercial insurance coverages and legal contract language.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

This position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job and the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current valid class-appropriate drivers license complete all required training and successfully pass all necessary drivers license record checks. The license must be current unexpired and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to drivers license record checks must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R.11).

All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).
