Job Description

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree and a minimum of 5 years experience or an advanced degree and a minimum of 3 years experience in Occupational Safety and Health Fire Protection Industrial Hygiene or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong knowledge of OS&H regulations standards and best practices.
  • Proven ability to make critical technical decisions and resolve complex issues.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal direction.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy L clearance which requires US Citizenship.

Preferred Certifications:

  • (2) years Leadership or Supervisory experience.
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) or Professional Engineer (PE).

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this classification the employee is frequently required to stand walk sit stoop kneel bend and work in an office and field/laboratory environment. The job requires hand/finger dexterity to keyboard or type handle materials manipulate tools and reach with hands and arms. The job requires the operation of job-related equipment and driving a vehicle. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Sufficient visual acuity and hearing capacity to perform the essential functions and interact with the public is required. Job Information:

  • The target pay range for this position is ($121553 - $186899) annually. The full pay range is ($105516- $269052) At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education relevant experience and other credentials.
  • TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.

Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is hiring an Occupational Safety and Health (OS&H) Program Manager for our Environment Safety Health and Quality (ESH&Q) group. Our team works a 9/80 schedule located at our Idaho Falls Facility with every other Friday off. You will report to the Occupational Safety and Health Director.

You will lead and manage our OS&H program activities which include Occupational Safety Industrial Hygiene Fire Protection and Explosive Safety programs. The successful candidate will manage and lead a high-functioning multidisciplinary OS&H team of subject matter experts (SMEs) and authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs) and will work with the OS&H Director to ensure the OS&H programs are developed assessed and maintained.

Responsibilities:

  • Team Management: Lead and manage the OS&H program SMEs and staff fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
  • Communication and Coordination: Maintain effective communication with key stakeholders (INL Mission Centers) and coordinate necessary resources (budget manpower expertise equipment) to execute the development implementation and assessment of assigned OS&H processes.
  • Safety Integration: Incorporate safety fire protection industrial hygiene and explosive safety requirements into mission/line work ensuring hazards are identified controls established and risks mitigated.
  • Deficiency Resolution: Document track and resolve OS&H deficiencies in a timely manner.
  • Technical Decision-Making: Make timely and critical OS&H technical decisions.
  • Administrative Duties: Approve staff timecards and schedules manage training plans and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Budget Management: Develop and execute the OS&H budget ensuring deliverables are completed on schedule and within budget.
