A nonprofit supporting Colorado families seeks a seasoned Senior Accountant & Office Manager to strengthen our financial operations and organizational capacity!

The Senior Accountant & Office Manager plays a vital role in strengthening our organizational infrastructure to support continued growth and program impact. The ideal candidate will bring strong nonprofit accounting experience a working knowledge of human resources and office operations and a passion for advancing family-focused early childhood programs across Colorado.

Parents who want a better life for their child can become a positive force in their childs success. Until all parents regardless of economic circumstances are empowered to be their childs first and most influential teacher Parent Possibles work is not done.
We lead three international parent support programs called Parents as Teachers (PAT) Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) and Vroom. Our programs support Colorado parents with their childrens positive development prenatal through kindergarten.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Were seeking a seasoned Senior Accountant that will also serve as our Office Manager to support our team and expand our capacity for further growth. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in generally accepted accounting principles experience with nonprofit bookkeeping ideally have an accounting degree and have a passion for supporting high-achieving community-driven programs.
GENERAL ACCOUNTING
- Prepare entries to record cost allocation or adjustments in Quickbooks.
- Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable procedures.
- Respond to inquiries from sites and contractors regarding the status of their payments.
- Maintain adequate documentation of accounting for 501c3 and federal and state regulation.
- Record donations and grant support in collaboration with Development Director.
- Prepare cost allocation for staff payroll and entries in Quickbooks.
- Collect and review monthly credit card receipts for staff p-cards.
- Assist the Director of Finance with monthly close out and reporting processes.
HUMAN RESOURCES
- Perform support functions with outsource HR Management organization for the needs of our staff including:
- Onboarding and offboarding staff
- Coordination of benefits enrollment adjustments
- Annual benefit evaluation and renewal
- Other day to day HR functions as needed
OFFICE MANAGEMENT & GENERAL ADMINISTRATION
- Assist in the scheduling logistics and materials preparation for meetings conference calls special events trainings and presentations.
- Assist with the coordination and staffing of events including the annual conference in April.
- Coordinate and maintain records for staff office space phones company credit cards office keys etc.
- Serve as point of contact for contractors and facilities including the external IT team building management and service providers.
- Maintain office space including tidying office space and watering plants processing and sorting mail ordering office supplies and checking printers and copiers.
STAFF SUPPORT
- Respond to staff support requests and complete these requests in a timely manner.
- Keep staff up to date on ongoing projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Two to five years prior experience as a nonprofit accountant or in financial or grants reporting.
- QuickBooks experience required.
- Familiar with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to learn new tasks quickly.
- Experience with meeting fiscal deadlines and maintaining consistent financial procedures and records.
- Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A bachelors degree in accounting or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Experience in early childhood or familiarity with the needs of early childhood organizations.
- Experience with government agency grant writing and management.
- Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM for managing grant applications.
WHAT OUR ORGANIZATION IS PROVIDING
- This is a full-time salaried exempt position reporting to the Executive Director. Expected starting salary ranges from $60000 - $65000.

- This is a hybrid position. Some work is required (2 to 3 days a week) in our downtown Denver office and the rest can be done remotely in Colorado.
