Monday - Friday 8 hours/day 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
SALARY: 28M - Management salary placement from $137252 to $159842 annually for a full time position;
Salary prorated based on actual start date FTE and prior experience.

DESCRIPTION:
Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Business Services develop direct lead inspire and manage Information Technology Services (ITS) Department and its staff in ensuring secure and reliable operations of the districts core IT infrastructure. Architect secure and manage the Districts computer and network infrastructure. Provide the engineering and creative skills to identify software and programming needs and write software as needed. Research and identify grants and other funding opportunities. Direct and lead the support client services and devices. Lead the implementation and deployment of new technologies. Lead and manage special projects involving new technologies and their deployments in both the core IT infrastructure and at the school sites. Work with the district leadership team principals and the individual school sites to define and improve ITS services and information technologys use in the classrooms and provide technical leadership for IT and other district staff.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: A Masters Degree in Computer Science Computer Information Systems Information Technology (IT) Computer Engineering Electrical Engineering or equivalent on-the-job experience.
Experience: Five (5) or more years of IT management leading teams of people overseeing enterprise applications client systems and technology infrastructure.
System administration experience with one or more of Active Directory or Google Workspace for Education.
Proven experience with:
modern industry best practices in cyber security network operations Google Workspace Active Directory and general IT and systems management.
enterprise networks application deployments and the operation of larger domains.
Chromebooks and management of Chromebooks using Google Admin Console and automation.
Personal Qualities: Resourceful innovative helpful diligent persistent and a willingness to work with colleagues and students.
Successful experience in interacting with and working with peers.
Additional: Valid California Drivers License
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: Ten (10) or more years IT management leading teams of ten or more people.
Extensive knowledge of modern best practices in security systems management and general IT.
IT management experience leading a team of ten or more employees
A CITE CTO Mentor Program (CTOM) certification or passage of a CTOM certification within two years of employment.
Experience with K-12 Request for Proposals (RFPs) including E-RATE and other technology purchases.
Google Workspace Administrator certifications
Other advanced technical certifications.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct the day-to-day IT operations of staff to ensure reliable and efficient operation of the Districts IT systems; provide project management and direction to internal staff committees and contracted services to ensure adherence to technical standards and District policies.
Analyze trends district strategic goals and plans to provide architectural leadership including creating a technology roadmap for the District. Work to improve the Districts cyber posture resilience and availability. Update technology roadmap as new technologies are introduced and legacy technologies are retired. Facilitate introduction of new technologies into the district.
Create or affect the creation of automation and software to manage District accounts devices and services.
Define and create technology solutions enabling staff to fully utilize and leverage modem technology in their work or teaching settings.
Coordinate the integration of information systems for student assessment with real-time report generation to enable tracking of student progress and attendance.
Create define and implement best practices policies for computer security network access systems management content filtering student internet access cyber security and general IT as needed.
Lead and define IT tools to help improve student learning state and district testing exit exams and physical fitness testing.
Develop implement and evaluate programs to serve users in the areas of Data Processing System Development System Maintenance and Operation Central Telephone and Radio Communications and Electronic Equipment Maintenance.
Conduct and coordinate feasibility studies leading to the determination of future requirements of school personnel and systems software.
Coordinate purchase and use of technology with District departments and schools.
Write and manage Request For Proposals (RFP) for E-RATE or other ITS-related purchases and/or projects including establishing requirements selection criteria and award criteria.
Review monitor and facilitate negotiations with vendors and agencies to provide cost-effective resources in support of day-to-day demands and long-term goals and objectives of the District.
Manage and maintain software licenses e-Rate and other government filings and reports; research and identify grants and other funding opportunities for the districts technology needs or ITS related activities.
Be responsible for the administrative functions of the IT department including budget preparation and tracking providing written and oral reports to the Superintendent and/or the Board of Education and the supervision and evaluation of the ITS staff.
Manage the ITS group to continually improve and offer ever-better support to teachers district and students.
Train IT and other school employees on new technologies including the designing and implementation of all in-service programs.
Maintain a deep understanding of current technology software advancements current programming techniques and industry best practices and techniques by reading interpreting and applying complex technical publications manuals and documents; all to ensure that the District is able to keep pace with future needs.
Serve as a general architect for the Districts IT operations inclusive of software network and project implementation methods.
Ensure that the District is current on software and hardware warranties maintenance and other subscriptions.
Analyze program operation difficulties and assist in debugging the programs.
Perform other duties as required.
