Responsibilities

The Northridge Hospital Medical Center Family Medicine Physician Fellowship Program is a comprehensive program that provides fellows with the opportunity to develop expertise in all aspects of sports medicine. In the course of this training the fellow will care for patients under the supervision of attending physicians in the outpatient setting with a main focus on primary care sports medicine.


  • Attends and actively participates in Fellowship and Residency educational activities (when required).
  • Participates in residency and institutional committees especially those that relate to patient care review activities (when required).
  • Provides teaching to residents and medical students participating in residency-sponsored activities.
  • Assist in the evaluation of Residents progress and effecting corrective teaching as needed.
  • Assisting in Program accreditation activities.
  • Develops a plan of care and delivers high-quality patient care.
  • Participates in effective and compassionate patient care.
  • Provides patient care to patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Provides consistent clinical and teaching responsibilities during the work day.
  • Provide supervision and training of Residents by providing personal instruction in lectures seminars rounds clinics and preparation of materials.
  • Maintains all appropriate charts and records for patients in accordance with sound medical practice and all governing laws rules and regulations.
  • Never abandons patients in need of care in either inpatient or outpatient settings.
