Quality Management Associate II - San Francisco

Are you detail-oriented organized and want to make a positive impact in the community Alternative Family Services (AFS) is looking for a Quality Management Associate (QMA) II responsible for assisting the QM Director in overseeing all compliance and improvement aspects for AFSs Mental Health programs. The QMA II will identify system problems and development issues identify initial and long-term solutions procedures and policies for the purposes to improve the quality of services improve agency functioning and increase the use of data-based decision making processes. Alternative Family Services is a Foster Family Adoption and Mental Health Agency that has been serving abused and neglected children in our community since 1973. Our mission is to support vulnerable children and families in need of stability safety and well-being in communities. Responsibilities
  • OverseeQMof the Sonoma and Contra Costa MH Program
  • Perform insurance (Medi-Cal) eligibility checks for all counties maintain internal eligibility database and track and troubleshoot eligibility problems including appropriate communication and coordination with clinical supervisors and staff to resolve Medi-Cal problems
  • Set up New Staff Documents set up staff accounts in Exym and maintain staff filesfor all counties
  • Monitor note status for all programs. Review Clean and maintain Objective Arts Program for Alameda and Contra Costa
  • Assist in maintaining and updating manuals workflows bundles and county required documents in SharePoint
  • Enter mental health service data into County MIS and Electronic Health Records (e.g. InSyst ShareCare Avatar and Periscope)
  • Create and use reports to verify and reconcile service data entry
  • Help monitor and maintain all aspects of clients medical records (electronic and hard copy) and charts including the creation of hard-copy files prepare database reports of missing documents and appropriate communication and coordination with clinical supervisors and staff to obtain missing documents
  • Support Patient Accounts Unit with data cleaning entry filing and reporting
  • Support structured file review activities such as Program Utilization Review Quality Committee PURQ including gathering and preparing charts reviewing charts for the presence/absence of documents taking minutes and copying/distributing review findings and preparing data reports
  • Provide technical assistance and support to clinical supervisors and staff as needed to maintain charts by specified deadlines
  • Ensure compliance with The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requirements
  • AssistQMManager in providing trainings to staff (new staff trainings; documentation trainings).
  • Data enter client outcome measures track measurements due/completed
  • Participate inQMDivision meetings
  • Work with minimal direct supervision and able to manage time and prioritize workload
  • The ability to develop a solid understanding of all county billing systems
  • Travel to AFS and County offices for trainings and meetings as needed
Qualifications
  • An undergraduate degree in a relevant area (e.g. social sciences computer sciences psychology social work pre-Med pre-Pharmacy etc.) with 2 years of relevant experience or a high school diploma and a minimum of 4 years related experience and/or training in Quality Management activities (EPSDT documentation guidelines quality assurance reviews medical records maintenance etc).
  • Intermediate to advanced user in Windows OS MS Excel MS Access Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Obtain and maintain fingerprint and government background clearances
  • Able to read and write fluently in English
