What does a Contract Manager do

As a critical Crowned Grace Leader the Contract Manager will expertly manage relationships with CGINTL clients ensuring satisfaction and driving business growth through exceptional service. This multifaceted role involves building robust relationships actively understanding client needs and providing proactive solutions to secure long-term partnerships and contract renewals. Daily responsibilities include communicating with clients via phone email and in-person meetings to address their needs effectively.

The Contract Manager will collaborate with various internal departments to fulfill customer requests and resolve any complaints acting as the Clients representative within CGINTL to enhance the overall client experience. Additionally this role involves collecting and analyzing Client information staying attuned to evolving client needs and ensuring the successful execution of task orders under broader contracts including IDIQ contracts while meeting scope timelines budgets and performance metrics. Flexibility and dedication to client satisfaction are paramount in this position.

Superior customer service is paramount complemented by excellent written and verbal communication skills and high emotional intelligence. Experience with project management which includes overseeing individual task orders tracking timelines and managing budgets is essential. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with ERP systems will support effective data management and performance monitoring as will experience with our clients programs.

Candidates should be adept at relationship building understanding client needs and proactively providing solutions. Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to negotiate contracts and manage compliance will ensure seamless project execution. Ongoing collaboration with internal teams and quick issue resolution are critical to maintaining high client satisfaction and driving business growth.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • Managing Individual Task Orders: Oversee the execution of specific tasks or projects defined within task orders.
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for the customer and internal teams.
  • Scope Management: They ensure that the scope of work outlined in the task order is accurately completely understood and implemented.
  • Timeline Management: tracks and manages project timelines.
  • Ensuring that milestones and deliverables are met on time.
  • Budget Management: Monitor and manage the budget allocated to each task order.
  • Ensuring that expenses are within the approved limits.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Track project performance against established metrics
  • identifying potential issues and ensuring that the project meets the required standards.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Management: act as a liaison between the clients
  • internal teams and other relevant stakeholders ensuring precise and consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Contract Management: Manage contract renewals.
  • Must possess a strong work ethic and a high level of self-accountability.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with various concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
  • Experience with project estimating forecasting establishing and operating within those budgets.

Risk Management:

  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with the task order and develop contingency plans as needed.
  • Compliance: ensures that all aspects of the task order comply with relevant regulations and contract terms.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and provide professional customer support.
  • Manage and support existing customers/accounts.
  • Monitor profitability and introduce new concepts to operations.
  • Proactively schedule and participate in face-to-face account meetings with the Client base.
  • Accurately forecast project costs and sales and track this over time to achieve budgeted sales and profitability goals.
  • Ongoing review of the contract to ensure the Clients needs are met and CGINTL complies with the contract.


  • Research and make recommendations for potential service enhancements or modifications to meet the ever-changing needs of the client base.
  • Review task orders and project specifications to ensure adherence to the scope budget and client expectations.
  • Ensure project documents scope procedures reports and other information are available to all necessary personnel to maximize our productivity and success on each project/task.
  • Identify potential and resolve existing project issues quickly and thoroughly.
  • Roughly 10-15% travel (sometimes overnight) is required.

Relationship Building:

  • Develop strong long-term relationships with CGINTL Clients.
  • Client Needs Understanding: Actively listen to and understand each Clients unique needs and objectives.
  • Solution Provider: Proactively identify and offer solutions to meet client needs and resolve issues.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients addressing their inquiries and ensuring timely communication.
  • Identify and leverage opportunities for upselling cross-selling and new business within existing accounts.
  • Assist with project management activities.
  • Work effectively with internal teams (e.g. sales operations marketing) to achieve client goals and drive business success.
  • Issue Resolution: Promptly and effectively address client issues and concerns ensuring a positive customer experience.
  • Data Management: Maintain accurate and organized client records including contracts communication logs and performance data.
  • Monitor and analyze account performance providing regular updates to clients and management.
  • Ability to write reports business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers customers and the public.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of Tools.
  • Experience working within ERP systems is desired.

Education:

  • Masters degree or higher in related field preferred.
  • PMP Certified
