We bring the heat on the court and in the classroom and were looking for a high-energy Assistant Mens Basketball Coach (AP25-055)whos ready to run with the pack and elevate our Mens Basketball program to new heights.

The Assistant Mens Basketball Coach reports directly to the Head Coach and is responsible for assisting in the organization and administration of the Mens Basketball program in accordance with the rules and regulations of the University Ohio Valley Conference and NCAA with an emphasis on basketball operations and player development.


The Assistant Mens Basketball Coach must have a commitment to developing a competitive NCAA Division I Mens Basketball program while maintaining an emphasis on the academic success of the student-athlete. The Assistant Mens Basketball Coach will be expected to assist the Head Coach with the administration of the program in a manner that promotes the health safety and welfare of the student-athlete.


Compliance with NCAA rules is of the utmost importance at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. As a member of the athletics department staff it is expected that the Assistant Mens Basketball Coach will have a full understanding of the NCAA rules that pertain to the position. It is also expected that the Assistant Mens Basketball Coach will comply with all NCAA rules and if he/she becomes aware or have reasonable cause to believe that a violation of a rule has occurred he/she will immediately report it to the Director of Athletics or his/her designee.

-Bachelors Degree

-Previous collegiate or professional coaching experience or professional playing experience

-Strong communication and organization skills


Preferred Qualifications

-Masters Degree

-1 years of collegiate experience as an NCAA Division I or II Assistant Coach or NCAA Division II or III NAIA or NJCAA Head Coach experience or professional playing experience

-Evidence of strong organizational and communication skills. Current knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.

-A commitment to student-athlete welfare and academic success.

Additional Information:This position does not offer work authorization sponsorship. International students at SIUE on F-1 or J-1 visas are not eligible for full-time or part-time civil service positions with permanent status.
