We currently have an opening for anOperations Analyst

The position is designated StatutoryExempt and is exemptfrom the State Human Resources Act.

NOTE: THIS IS A NIGHT SHIFT POSITION (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) and MANDATORY ON LOCATION

This position is located in the NCDIT Incident Management Center (IMC) and will be required to work night shift on location. IMC Operations Analysts are responsible for supporting an Integrated 247 Enterprise Incident Management Center. This position will provide initial diagnostic support for a range of services offered by NCDIT. Services include network hosting and mainframe and will vary as other services are added and retired. The position will be responsible for the monitoring identification initial analysis and resolution of issues related to any of these services following established procedures.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities / Competencies

To qualify for this position applicants must document on the application that they possessALLof the following:

  • Experience in applying Operating System updates security patches antivirus software and/or applicable security configurations

  • Demonstrated experience diagnosing and developing plans to resolve system performance problems

  • Working knowledge of software tools such as IT Infrastructure monitoring tools ticketing systems and storage management software


Management Preferences:

  • Knowledge and basic understanding of ITIL framework
  • ITIL Foundation or other IT certifications
  • Understanding of multi-tiered Service Level Agreements Incident Management Change Management and/or Problem Management

This position requires a fingerprint-based background search. Hires must agree to a fingerprint-based background search prior to being hired.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelors degree in computer science computer information systems computer science engineering or a closely related degree from an appropriately accredited institution
OR
Bachelors degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience in operations/systems work or closely related area
OR
Associate degree in computer information technology computer engineering technology or networking technology from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience in operations/systems work or closely related area; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
