This role is essential for maintaining the safety and efficiency of both vehicular and pedestrian traffic in areas affected by construction road repairs and various transportation initiatives. As a Traffic Control Technician you will play a crucial part in the Operations Section of the District Traffic Unit focusing on highway signage and maintaining the SAP Signing Inventory. Your attention to detail and adherence to safety regulations will not only safeguard workers but also enhance the safety of the traveling public ensuring smooth traffic flow and compliance with local and state traffic laws. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position you will provide technical assistance to both internal and external clients regarding signing and detour matters. You will create initial detour routes for various projects upon receiving requests from your supervisor or the Traffic Engineer for Scoping Field Views. It is essential to save all plans in both Micro Station and an Adobe file within the designated folder on the J: drive. Additionally you will review detour plans from both in-house and consultant sources to ensure 100% accuracy and completeness verifying that the selected routes comply with Pub 213. Any necessary modifications should be marked in red on the plans before returning them to the sender and your supervisor.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM Monday - Friday with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework:You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Hollidaysburg.
- Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $44890 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as an Engineering Technician(Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Three years of experience performing transportation engineering technical assignments such as traffic control data collection highway sign surveys traffic signal inspection materials sampling testing or inspection construction inspection bridge inspection survey work utility relocation roadway programs management or roadway materials control; and graduation from high school;or
- One year of experience performing transportation engineering technical assignments such as traffic control data collection highway sign surveys traffic signal inspection materials sampling testing or inspection construction inspection bridge inspection survey work utility relocation roadway programs management or roadway materials control; and an Associates Degree in the field of mathematics statistics or a civil engineering technology;or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
