Job Description

Job Title: Bilingual Staff Accountant

Department: Accounting

Reports To: Finance Director


SUMMARY:

This employee is responsible for maintaining the General Ledger and performing all cost accounting duties. This responsibility includes performing month and year-end closings reconciling accounts and the preparation of all financial statements. Additionally this employee must prepare all government tax filings and assist in the preparation of the annual budget. Other responsibilities include the collecting and preparing of data that reflects the companys activities and presenting them to management providing assistance and accounting perspective to other departments and projects and acting as backup for both accounts payable and receivable.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Maintains the accuracy and integrity of the General Ledger.
  2. Performs month and year-end closings. This includes account reconciliations and the preparation of the Income Statement and Balance Sheet.
  3. Files all local state and Federal tax reports.
  4. Monitors and controls job costing.
  5. Performs financial analysis.
  6. Assists in the preparation of the annual budget.
  7. Reports financial data to Director of Finance.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Prepares daily financial and production activity reports.
  2. Collects data and provides support for other departments.
  3. Provides backup for Accounts Payable and Receivable.
  4. Audits and develops policies tied to the accounting department.
  5. Provides accounting perspective for company projects.
  6. Because of the changing nature of our business this job description will inevitably change. The employee will from time to time be required to undertake other activities of a similar nature that fall within his/her capabilities as directed by management

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelors degree in Accounting required.
  2. Proficiency with Excel or similar spreadsheet software required.
  3. Previous experience in the manufacturing sector and with cost accounting is preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work. May require lifting of up to 20 pounds.
