Job Description
Director of Perioperative Services & Surgical Operations

Position Overview
As Director of Surgical Services you will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for all perioperative services ensuring clinical excellence regulatory compliance and optimal patient outcomes. This role carries 24/7 accountability for departmental operations and team performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategic planning and execution for all surgical service lines
- Drive operational excellence through quality metrics process improvement and best practice implementation
- Oversee clinical compliance with regulatory standards (JC CMS AORN)
- Manage departmental budget and resource allocation
- Develop and mentor perioperative leadership team
- Implement evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and outcomes
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence
- Build strong cross-functional relationships across the organization
- Lead quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
- Ensure optimal surgical scheduling and resource utilization
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Current RN licensure in state of practice
- Minimum 3 years perioperative leadership experience
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards
- Proven track record in surgical services management
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters degree in Nursing Healthcare Administration or Business Administration
- CNOR certification
- CSSM certification
- OR Nurse Manager experience
- Experience with electronic health records and surgical scheduling systems
