None/Not RequiredThe Collins Aerospace Avionics Test Engineering organization is a global engineering team responsible for the design development and maintenance of manufacturing test solutions in support of the $5B Avionics strategic business unit as well as external customers including armed services and airlines both domestic and international.
The organization is looking for a motivated individual to provide exemplary technical builds. As a key member of the engineering support team the Avionics Test Technician will work closely with engineers to produce new designs and contribute suggested modifications for producibility.
What You Will Do:
- Provide building support for test assemblies for research design development or manufacturing activities for various internal customers.
- Inspection of test assembly builds for Collins build processes and workmanship standards.
- Read engineering drawings and use lookup tools.
- ITA (Interchangeable Test Adapter) and fixture construction integrated rack installation.
- Cable harness construction and continuity verification.
- Prepare and solder all levels of electronic components onto Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) cable connectors and electronic parts according to specifications.
- Knowledge of different soldering materials fluxes and solders and their appropriate usage. Familiarity with soldering equipment tools and accessories and the ability to operate and maintain them effectively.
- Document test solution design modifications.
- Solid understanding of written/verbal instruction methods used by customers.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Experience building test assemblies fixtures cables and/or circuit card assemblies (CCAs)
- Typically requires HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post-high school training) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Excellent written verbal and telephonic communication skills.
- Sound knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Willingness to learn and accept constructive feedback.
- Degree or completed coursework in engineering technology or electronics.
- Prior experience working in an electronics manufacturing or laboratory role.
- Completed Collins training for build and inspection processes.
- Experiencereading engineering drawings and using lookup tools.
- Experience with multi-pin cable and connector construction.
- Experience with panel and fixture construction and integrated rack installation.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 40000 USD - 70000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
