Job Description

Vice President of Business Development

Company: Matrix Providers
Location: Remote (with travel as needed)
Reports to: President & COO

COMMISSION/BONUS POTENTIAL IN ADDITION TO SALARY

Job Summary

The Vice President of Business Development will be responsible for driving strategic growth including identifying new business opportunities cultivating high-value client relationships and market expansion. The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader with a proven track record in healthcare staffing government contracting proposal management and building partnerships that drive revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Growth Planning: Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to achieve revenue targets and expand market share within the Department Health Administration (DHA) Department of Defense (DoD) Veterans Affairs Federal and state sectors.
  • Pricing Strategy Development: Oversee the process to create competitive pricing models that balance competitiveness profitability and compliance with federal state and commercial contract requirements.
  • Proposal Development: Oversee the creation of compelling proposals RFPs and bids ensuring alignment with client needs and Matrix Providers capabilities.
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor industry trends competitor activities and regulatory changes to inform pricing decisions and position Matrix Providers as a market leader.
  • Market Expansion: Identify and pursue new business opportunities including geographic expansion new service lines and emerging healthcare staffing trends.
  • Team Leadership: Lead mentor and grow a business development team fostering a culture of accountability collaboration and results-driven performance.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with program management operations recruiting and finance teams to ensure seamless delivery of staffing solutions and alignment with business goals.
  • Performance Metrics: Establish and track KPIs to measure the success of business development initiatives reporting progress to the President and executive team.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Business Healthcare Administration or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 10 years of experience in business development with at least 5 years in a leadership role within healthcare staffing or a related industry.
    • Proven success in securing large-scale contracts in the federal and/or commercial healthcare sectors.
    • Strong understanding of government contracting processes GSA schedules and VA/DoD procurement.
  • Skills:
    • Exceptional relationship-building and negotiation skills with government stakeholders.
    • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate market insights into actionable growth plans.
    • Strong leadership and team-building capabilities with experience managing remote or distributed teams.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex solutions clearly.
    • Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g. Salesforce) and business development analytics.
