Vice President of Business Development

Job Summary
The Vice President of Business Development will be responsible for driving strategic growth including identifying new business opportunities cultivating high-value client relationships and market expansion. The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader with a proven track record in healthcare staffing government contracting proposal management and building partnerships that drive revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Growth Planning: Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to achieve revenue targets and expand market share within the Department Health Administration (DHA) Department of Defense (DoD) Veterans Affairs Federal and state sectors.
- Pricing Strategy Development: Oversee the process to create competitive pricing models that balance competitiveness profitability and compliance with federal state and commercial contract requirements.
- Proposal Development: Oversee the creation of compelling proposals RFPs and bids ensuring alignment with client needs and Matrix Providers capabilities.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor industry trends competitor activities and regulatory changes to inform pricing decisions and position Matrix Providers as a market leader.
- Market Expansion: Identify and pursue new business opportunities including geographic expansion new service lines and emerging healthcare staffing trends.
- Team Leadership: Lead mentor and grow a business development team fostering a culture of accountability collaboration and results-driven performance.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with program management operations recruiting and finance teams to ensure seamless delivery of staffing solutions and alignment with business goals.
- Performance Metrics: Establish and track KPIs to measure the success of business development initiatives reporting progress to the President and executive team.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelors degree in Business Healthcare Administration or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Experience:
- 10 years of experience in business development with at least 5 years in a leadership role within healthcare staffing or a related industry.
- Proven success in securing large-scale contracts in the federal and/or commercial healthcare sectors.
- Strong understanding of government contracting processes GSA schedules and VA/DoD procurement.
- Skills:
- Exceptional relationship-building and negotiation skills with government stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate market insights into actionable growth plans.
- Strong leadership and team-building capabilities with experience managing remote or distributed teams.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex solutions clearly.
- Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g. Salesforce) and business development analytics.
