Job Description:

The Building Automation Systems (BAS) Engineering Manager will oversee the design installation operation maintenance and optimization of building management systems within our data centers. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in BAS HVAC electrical systems and data center operations. This role demands a blend of technical expertise project management skills and the ability to lead and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:

  • System Management: Oversee the operation and maintenance of the building management systems including HVAC electrical and other critical infrastructure.
  • Monitoring and Optimization: Continuously monitor system performance and implement optimization strategies to improve efficiency and reduce energy consumption.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to BMS ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to data center operations.
  • Compliance: Ensure all systems comply with relevant regulations standards and best practices.
  • Project Management: Lead and manage BAS-related projects including upgrades installations and expansions.
  • Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with external vendors and contractors to ensure timely and quality service delivery.
  • Team Leadership: Provide guidance and training to the facilities team on BAS operations and best practices.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all activities comply with relevant building codes safety standards and environmental regulations.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed records of system operations project progress and any issues encountered.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in electrical engineering mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in building automation systems preferably in a data center environment.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC electrical systems and data center infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in BAS software and tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong project management and leadership abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents such as schematics and blueprints.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a management position with 5 or more direct reports.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 15 years of relevant technical experience with Building Automation Systems.
  • 10 years of BMS project management experience.
  • BMS/EPMS system design and bidding experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Walk or stand for 50% of the time.
  • Moderate or advanced keyboard usage.
  • Lift 50 lbs.
  • Travel 25% of the time.

Base Pay Range: Annualized salary range offered for this position is estimated to be $120000 - $145000. However the actual pay range depends on each candidates experience location and qualifications.
