Job Description

The Tarrant To & Through (T3) Partnership aims to increase postsecondary credentials and workforce success for Tarrant County students. Currently only 39% of adults have an associate degree or higher despite 65% of jobs requiring post-secondary education. T3 provides resources financial assistance and opportunities to students and families equipping them for successful careers. Through collaboration with various organizations we strive for inclusive pathways to education. Our goal is systemic change that positively impacts the entire Tarrant County community for generations to come.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Tarrant To & Through (T3) is seeking a Go Center Specialist who will focus on supporting ninth and tenth grade students at multiple high school campuses across Tarrant County in developing the skills knowledge and mindset necessary for post-secondary education and career success. You will work with students at large to provide them with guidance support services and resources to help them develop the skills knowledge and mindset to navigate their educational journey persist through the journey and purse their academic and career goals. As a Go Center Specialist you will work on establishing a strong understanding of the Go Centers College Career and Military Readiness (CCMR) pathways and T3 advising model. This role reports to the Sr. Manager of Post Secondary Success and will play a key role in ensuring that Tarrant To & Through realizes its vision of increasing post-secondary enrollment and completion in Tarrant County in order to improve overall quality of life and position Tarrant Count as a leading producer of high quality talent.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Building Strong Partnerships and T3 Awareness (40%)
  • Cultivate and maintain strong and trusting relationships with students parents school personnel and community organizations to ensure effective collaboration and support for students post-secondary goals.
  • Increase awareness of T3 initiatives including the Go Center among students families and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with partner organizations to align support services and resources for students.
  • Engage families in discussions about post-secondary pathways and provide information on available resources.
  • Host family engagement events to promote T3 initiatives and support student success minimum of one per semester.
  • Lead operation and implementation of Go Center: implement quality assurance measure to maintain high quality of service standards.
Increase College Career and Military Readiness Pathway Awareness (40%)
  • Be well versed with College Career and Military Readiness (CCMR) indicators and how they can be met as well as College Career and Military Readiness (CCMR) Outcome Bonuses (HB3)
  • Conduct group advising sessions to help students explore their interests strengths and goals.
  • Understand the endorsement options available within each district as well as any programs of choice for each T3 district.
  • Understand how grade point average (weighted and un-weighted) is calculated and the importance of it.
  • Have an understanding and articulate dual credit opportunities Texas Success Initiative (TSI) Advanced Placement (AP) courses PSAT/NMSQT/SAT AVID etc. to students and parents.
  • Collaborate with school counselors and administrators to understand and support college readiness test prep such as Texas Success Initiative (TSI) SAT and/or ACT.
  • Lead targeted TSI Support Initiative efforts by identifying students needing additional guidance and support to being TSIA met coordinating prep resources and supporting students through testing contributing to improved college eligibility and district outcome bonuses.
  • Facilitate workshops to educate families and students on post-secondary pathway opportunities to prepare students for the academic social and personal aspects.
  • Introduce students to exploration tools and resources to help them plan for their future such as T3s P2C Texas Reality Check Big Future
Student Support and Monitoring (20%)
  • Advocate for students needs and empower them and their parents to navigate academic systems effectively.
  • Promote and support a culture of College Career and Military Readiness (CCMR) awareness and understanding on campus.
  • Collect and maintain interactions progress and outcomes using SalesForce. Create reports on student engagement to inform program evaluation and decision making.
  • Stay informed of College Career and Military Readiness (CCMR) best practices trends and policies.
  • Inform students on scholarship volunteer and workshop opportunities led by T3.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
  • Bachelors degree in relevant field
Experience
  • 1 years of professional experience working with College Career and Military Readiness (CCMR) initiatives in K-12 setting.
Desired Outcomes
  • Improve student College Career and Military Readiness (CCMR) awareness.
  • Enhance students understanding of college admission requirements college readiness testing GPA requirements and available pathways.
  • Foster a college-going culture within the school community through awareness campaigns events and activities by 25%.
  • Provide targeted guidance to 9th and 10th grade students in exploring post-secondary options that align with their academic interests career goals and financial needs with the goal of strengthening early post-secondary planning by the end of 10th grade.
  • Facilitate access to college entrance exam preparation resources and programs in collaboration with district resulting in an increase in test scores.

  • Experience working directly with multiple campuses.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of College Career and Military Readiness (CCMR) trends and policies
  • Experience in SalesForce and/or data monitoring.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
This position is based across multiple T3 high school campuses within Tarrant County and requires regular travel between sites.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work at a desk and computer screen for extended periods of time.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment associated with this position may involve varying noise levels ranging from low to high and is subject to frequent interruptions. Employees may also encounter periodic distractions resulting from the activities and interactions of colleagues in the vicinity while performing the essential duties of the role.
