About the Team

This role sits within Ofcoms Corporate Group in the People Culture & Workplace PMO team. The Head of PMO is responsible for programme-managing the One Ofcom programme. This change programme includes the delivery of the Data Digital and AI programme which aims to enhance Ofcoms future data capability by coordinating and accelerating the adoption of data digital and AI technologies. It also focuses on identifying the training and support required to help colleagues make the most of these new technologies.

In addition there is a separate programme to increase agility across the organisation by embedding consistent processes that enable us to successfully deliver our three-year plan.

Purpose of the Role

Reporting into the Head of PMO People Culture & Workplace / One Ofcom Programme Lead this role will perform PMO duties in support of the One Ofcom change programme.

Your key responsibilities

  • Providing direct support to the One Ofcom Programme Lead in coordinating programme / work strand initiatives and stakeholder engagement.

  • Responsible for tracking programme deliverables ensuring alignment with the programme plan of work.

  • Work closely with multiple teams across Ofcom (Data and Information ICT People Culture and Workplace Finance Comms) supporting work strand leads in delivering against milestones collaboration of work strands tracking of interdependencies and reporting regularly to all relevant governance boards and committees.

  • Managing risks issues and dependencies working with the work strand leads to ensure robust assessments mitigation plans are in place and periodic control reviews.

  • Ensuring effective governance responsible for managing the Programme Board plan of work; ensuring governance delivery deadlines are adhered to and all actions are executed and delivered compiling papers packs and minutes as required.

  • Ensuring effective reporting compiling Programme Status Reports and conducting work strand/project health checks

  • Support set-up maintenance and organisation of the Programme SharePoint site.

  • Other duties assigned and in scope of general administrative PMO duties.

The skills knowledge and experience you will need for success

  • Proven experience working in a PMO / programme /project management role with expertise in Agile and Waterfall frameworks.

  • Solid understanding of project management fundamentals including scheduling budgeting and risk management.

  • Executing Plans: strong proficiency in project management tools and frameworks ensuring efficient tracking and reporting of programme deliverables.

  • Owning Accountabilities: excellent organisational planning and analytical skills with the ability to track complex project dependencies across multiple works strands and work independently.

  • Articulating Ideas: strong communication and interpersonal skills able to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels and present information clearly and concisely to a range of audiences.

  • Building Solutions: experience in risk management with the ability to identify and mitigate programme risks proactively.

  • Experience in governance and reporting including preparing status updates for steering groups or senior leadership teams.

  • Harmonising Work: ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment supporting teams in delivering against strategic goals.

  • Demonstrated experience in change management and driving organisational transformation.

  • Ability to understand and analyse data and provide insights.

  • Ability to make use of new technology to enhance the work and to foster collaboration.

  • Is respectful agile focuses on excellence embraces empowerment and collaborates with others.

  • Understands (and uses) own and others strengths to achieve individual priorities.

  • Shares own views respectfully to provide diversity of thought.

Desirable skills

  • Knowledge of AI digital and data transformation or innovation programmes is desirable but not essential
