Who are we looking for
OurEngineering Design Organizationis looking for a Junior Bridge Engineering Technicianreadyto join one of our Waterloo Mississauga Whitby offices. In this role youll be part of the Bridges team working on municipal infrastructure projects such as bridge rehabilitation bridges replacements culvert rehabilitation and replacements and retaining walls.
Working with an energetic and high performing team this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Responsible for preparing and drawing detailed design drawings
- Assist with preparation of technical memorandums letters and reports
- Conduct quantity calculations and costing estimates
- Developing design/construction documents and specifications
- Participate in maintenance inspections (OSIM) of bridges and culverts
- Attend and participate in client/team progress meetings including preparation of meeting records
What you will bring to the Team
- Diploma in civil engineering from an accredited post-secondary educational institution or equivalent experience
- High proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D; familiarity with Microstation is an asset;
- Experience with inspection design preparing contract documents and contract administration support considered an asset
- Proven verbal and written English communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Committed team player
- Must have a valid Ontario drivers license
