About the role
We are seeking a strategic and experienced property professional to lead Somerville Housings asset and housing portfolio. Reporting to the Deputy Chief Executive Officer the Director Housing and Property Services will drive the development of new Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) oversee organisational property strategy and ensure our housing assets meet the needs of participants and support sustainable growth.

What youll be doing
As Director you will lead housing and property strategy oversee compliance and infrastructure risk and manage development and capital works projects across SDA and other organisational assets.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a strong understanding of financial regulations payroll and reporting requirements. It also involves supporting financial literacy across the organisation and driving continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the planning and delivery of new SDA and disability housing projects across the NT
- Overseeing property acquisition disposal lease arrangements and upgrades
- Providing strategic oversight of all housing assets and organisational property
- Ensuring SDA compliance and liaison with the NDIA and relevant authorities
- Developing asset strategies aligned with NDIS requirements and service delivery needs
- Supporting Somervilles broader operational and strategic goals through asset planning and infrastructure advice
What youll bring
To succeed in this role youll bring strategic leadership strong commercial acumen and the ability to drive complex property and housing initiatives that align with long-term organisational goals and NDIS requirements.
Youll also need to demonstrate:
- Extensive experience delivering property and housing projects including development compliance and project management
- In-depth understanding of SDA NDIS provider obligations and disability housing requirements
- Strong strategic planning and critical thinking skills
- Experience leading teams and managing consultants and contractors
- Sound knowledge of NT building regulations planning processes and tenancy law
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong financial acumen including capital budget management and feasibility assessment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and property or asset management software
- High-level professionalism and a commitment to ethical practice inclusion and participant choice and control
You will also need to hold (or have the ability to obtain) a current Ochre Card Criminal History Check NDIS Worker Screening Clearance COVID-19 and Influenza vaccinations evidence of Australian work rights and an NT Drivers Licence.
