On behalf of Praxis Automation Technology BV MARPRO Group is currently seeking an Project Engineer Electrical Propulsion to join their engineering team.

The job

As an Project Engineer Electrical Propulsion you will be a key member of the engineering team responsible for delivering Praxis Automations electrical propulsion systems. Your role involves engineering and managing projects from initial customer specification through to delivery and sea trials. You will serve as an important link between Praxis Automation Technology and its international customers. You will address technical and logistical challenges that may arise during projects working closely with the customer and internal departments. Your work involves daily interaction with colleagues across various departments including sales design production and test. You will report to the project engineering manager.

You will report to the E-Propulsion Team Leader.

Additional responsibilities

  • Project management and engineering specifically for electrical propulsion systems from customer specification to delivery and sea trials.
  • Communicating with international clients about project-specific details for propulsion systems.
  • Addressing challenges that may occur during electrical propulsion projects in close collaboration with the customer.
  • Generating project-specific documentation such as design drawings and protocols for propulsion systems.
  • Hardware and software configuration and testing for electrical propulsion systems.
  • Organizing Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) approval with the Classification Society and the customer.
  • Commissioning of electrical propulsion systems on-site or remotely.
  • Providing After Sales and Customer Support for electrical propulsion systems.
  • Supporting the development of our products in all aspects contributing feedback from project implementation.
  • Occasional (inter)national travel to customer locations and shipyards for project meetings FATs and commissioning

Personal characteristics

  • You have a Masters degree (MSc) in Electrical Engineering Electrical Power Engineering or a related technical field. Alternatively you have a Bachelors degree (BSc) in Electrical Engineering Electrical Power Engineering or a related technical field combined with relevant work experience. For candidates with an MSc relevant experience is a plus but starters are also welcome.
  • You have affinity with automation systems particularly electrical propulsion systems and their control (e.g. PLC programming).
  • Ability to travel abroad regularly for work.
  • Good command of the English language both verbally and in writing is required.
  • You are customer-oriented.
  • You have good analytical skills and a problem-solving approach.
  • You are a team player with a positive attitude.
  • You have drivers license B.
  • You are a technical talent with a love for technology and ships.
  • You are able to work independently especially during international travel and on-site work.
  • You are flexible and solution-oriented capable of handling challenges in a dynamic environment.
  • You have strong communication skills to interact effectively with colleagues clients and partners.
